Method 1 - Using the physical buttons on the iOS device
- Reproduce the issue. Note the date and time(s) that the issue occurred and add this information to your report.

Trigger a sysdiagnose by simultaneously pressing and releasing both Volume buttons + the Side (or Top) button for 1 to 1.5 seconds.
- A screenshot will also be taken when the buttons are pressed and released.
- The sysdiagnose is triggered upon button release.
- On an iPhone, you will feel a short vibration when a sysdiagnose is successfully triggered (Note: This vibration will not occur on an iPad).
- Wait approximately 5-10 minutes for the diagnostic gathering to complete.
- Sync the affected device with its host computer or AirDrop the file to a Mac computer, from the affected device.
Method 2 - Using AssistiveTouch (iOS 12 and later)

Enable AssistiveTouch in iOS, by going to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch.
- Notice the floating home button that appears on the screen.
- Under the CUSTOM ACTIONS heading, select an Action.

Select Analytics. A small checkmark (✓) will appear next to your selection.
- Reproduce the issue. Important: Note the date and time issue occurred and add this information to your report.

Trigger a sysdiagnose by using the CUSTOM ACTION that you selected above in Step 2.
- A gray bar may appear along the top of the screen, indicating that the log gathering has started, and another one when it completes.
- It can take up to 10 minutes for the diagnostic gathering to complete, so be patient with the data gathering that is occurring.
- Once logging has completed, sync the device with your host computer or AirDrop the file to your Mac computer.
How to tell if a sysdiagnose has started or finished generating
- Go to Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics -> Analytics Data.

When the report is generating, you will find: IN_PROGRESS_sysdiagnose_<DATE>
- When the report is finished, you will find: sysdiagnose_<DATE>
How to retrieve the sysdiagnose logs
Method 1 - Share the sysdiagnose file from the iOS device to a Mac
- Go to: Settings > Privacy > Analytics > Analytics Data
- Scroll down to the point where you see the sysdiagnose file listed, with the appropriate date.
- Tap on the sysdiagnose file, then tap the Share icon (the blue box with the arrow) at the top right.
- In the Share screen, choose the Mac device to send the sysdiagnose file to, from the list of devices that appear in the AirDrop area.
- Once the transfer is complete (this may take several minutes), the file will be located in the /Users/[Your Username]/Downloads folder on the target Mac. The name will be similar to this: “sysdiagnose_YYYY.MM.DD_HH-MM-SS-XX…"
